Suspend Smart Meter Device

Suspend Function for Smart Meter Devices

ChronicCareIQ will now support the suspension of Smart Meter devices. During the suspended status, devices will not receive measurements into the Smart Meter data cloud OR ChronicCareIQ accounts. In addition, a patient who is deactivated from ChronicCareIQ will automatically have their device suspended upon deactivation. That device will return to the general device population as an unassigned device so it may be reassigned to another patient once it is returned and cleaned for reuse.

ChronicCareIQ recommends as a best practice that devices not be reused and each patient is issued a new device. However, in the cases where practice does reassign devices, we have built in a new safeguard that measurements that occurred before the deactivation of the original patient can NOT be manually synced on reassigned devices. This will prevent any previously collected data from the device being assigned to the incorrect patient.

NOTE: Smart Meter requires a device to be reactivated within 90 days – make SURE if you need to reassign a device, you reuse it within 90 days or the device is permanently deactivated.

Reactivation Smart Meter Devices Policy

  • Devices can be suspended for up to 90 days. You can suspend and subsequently reactivate devices on a self-serve basis without the involvement of the Smart Meter support team.

  • A Reactivation charge of $3 will apply to every Device Reactivation.

  • Once a device has been suspended for a period greater than 90 days, the device automatically transitions to deactivated and is no longer eligible to be reactivated.

  • It is the responsibility of the customer to manage your suspension and reactivation report. An email will be sent at the beginning of every week that provides your current number of suspended devices. The document below provides more detailed information regarding device management, suspension, and reactivation.
