Smart Meter eliminates the complex, extra steps—and delay—of sharing health metrics. All patients do is test by pressing a single button on iGlucose, iBloodPressure, iPulseOx, iDigiTemp, or simply stepping on the iScale. Clinicians benefit from access to cellular-transmitted, real-time, reliable, and secure patient data between visits, which can lead to better patient outcomes. Smart Meter is the choice of healthcare innovators for its comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for reimbursable remote patient monitoring of chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and weight management.

Device Setup and Data Syncing
You can manage Smart Meter devices and their data within ChronicCareIQ. You can assign devices, either from a pre-imported list or by manually adding them using the device ID or IMEI. Ensure the device is correctly recognized and assigned to the right patient. Test the device to confirm data is logging accurately in the patient’s chart.
Manually sync data if needed, especially for specific date ranges or missing information. Device details like IMEI or Short Code are found within the patient’s chart under the Devices tab.
Smart Meter Manual Sync: 31 Day Window
Smart Meter now supports syncing device measurements within a maximum 31-day window per sync request.
If you need to retrieve measurements covering a longer date range, you will need to perform multiple manual syncs, breaking the request into separate 31-day increments until the full date range has been captured.
Please plan accordingly when reconciling historical data.

Supported Smart Meter Devices
Smart Meter offers support for various devices, including iGlucose, iBloodPressure, iScale, and iPulseOX, which seamlessly integrate with CCIQ for easy data collection of blood glucose, blood pressure, weight, and oxygen saturation readings. Key features of these devices include cellular connectivity, lightweight design, simple operation, and accurate results. Smart Meter offers extensive patient resources as well. Please note that Smart Meter device integration requires enabling the feature in your CCIQ account.

Cell Phone Coverage Requirement
SmartMeter devices use cellular data to transmit readings to your ChronicCareIQ dashboard, at no cost to the patient. Adequate cell coverage is essential for proper device function. To check coverage, consult the AT&T coverage map, as SmartMeter utilizes their network. If coverage is inadequate, consider alternative reporting methods like manual entry in ChronicCareIQ. Patients might find a location with better coverage to transmit readings or inquire with their cell service provider about devices to boost their home signal.

Device Inventory Management
While it’s recommended to order new devices for each new patient that enrolls, some practices might decide to reuse Smart Meter devices and should prioritize proper device inventory management. This involves tracking which devices are assigned to which patients and when devices become available for reassignment. Contact Smart Meter Customer Support at 1-844-445-8267 (1-844-iGlucose) or [email protected] for assistance.
Suspending Smart Meter Devices
ChronicCareIQ now allows you to suspend Smart Meter devices. This means the device won’t collect or transmit data to either Smart Meter or your ChronicCareIQ account. Automatic suspension occurs when a patient is deactivated in ChronicCareIQ, and the device becomes available for reassignment after proper handling. While assigning new devices to each patient is recommended, practices reusing devices benefit from a safeguard that prevents old data from syncing to a new patient. Importantly, devices must be reactivated within 90 days to avoid permanent deactivation. Reactivation can be managed independently but incurs a $3 fee. A weekly email will provide a report of your suspended devices.
