Tenovi Device Setup
To set up devices for taking measurements, follow these steps:
First, open the Tenovi box.
Grab the gateway and its charging cord out of the box and plug in the gateway.
Since the gateway sends measurements to the cloud via a cellular network, a suitable place for it is in open space near windows.
Once you plug in the gateway, it will beep and begin to pulse purple as it searches for a nearby cellular signal.
The gateway may search for a signal for upwards of ten minutes.
Next, take out your measurement devices.
Validate that each device has batteries properly inserted. If not, place the batteries in now.

Adding A Tenovi Device To A Patient
First, open the patient’s chart
Go to the Devices tab within the patient’s chart
Click on the Add Device button
In the Add Device window, you should see the Manufacturer drop-down. Please select Tenovi from the drop-down
In the Device Model dropdown, select with device you’re trying to add
In the field called IMEI, you would enter the IMEI number that’s on the device.
Usually, it’s on the back of the device
The Tenovi Cellular Gateway (Tenovi BPM in CCIQ) uses a Gateway ID instead of an IMEI
In the Who Supplied Device drop-down, you would select Practice Dispensed or Patient Provided
Practice Dispensed means that Tenovi sent the patient’s care team the device
Patient Provided means that the patient has a device already
In the Sync Measurements drop-down, you would select Previous and Future Measurements or Future Measurements Only
Previous and Future Measurements mean that a patient used a Tenovi device to send data to Tenovi before connecting to CCIQ, allowing the care team to access both past measurements and new data going forward.
Future Measurements Only indicates that the care team will start receiving the patient’s data from this point onward.
Once you’ve completed the required fields, click the Add Device button.
Device Verify Shows “Unknown Device” When Adding to ChronicCareIQ
When trying to add Tenovi Gateway ID and clicking verify you get an Unknown Device message.
Log into the Tenovi portal and see if the Gateway & devices are listed in the dashboard. If they are not click +Add HWI Device and add each device with the Gateway ID. The devices should now show as “pending devices” in the Tenovi portal.
The gateway should now verify in CCIQ
After measurements are taken the devices will show as connected instead of pending in the Tenovi Device Dashboard
Removing A Tenovi Device From A Patient
When removing a Tenovi device from a patient, the following is done:
All patient information is removed from the device in the Tenovi Portal.
Gateway is removed from the device in the Tenovi Portal.
The device becomes ‘hidden’ in our system – effectively being removed from the patient.
The reason for unlinking the device is that it preserves the device’s measurement history in the Tenovi portal. Here’s what happens as part of the unlinking process:
When removing the device from the patient, the device will be moved to the Unlinked section of the device list within Tenovi. The device will have all of the measurements of the original patient. If you go to add that same device to another patient in CCIQ, a new device will be created in Tenovi with no knowledge of the previous patient’s measurements.
Here’s why that’s important: Imagine a patient is using a BPM for months and you then retrieve the device from them and add it to another patient. After adding it, you go to sync measurements from dates when the BPM was associated with another patient. Because we unlink the device, syncing will not retrieve any of the previous patient’s measurements.

Cellular Gateway VS Cellular Device
This highlights the differences between the Cellular Gateway and Cellular Devices provided by Tenovi, and explains why you might prefer one option over the other.
Data Storage & Offline Use
Your Tenovi devices are designed to work even without an immediate cellular connection. Data is stored securely on the devices until it can be successfully transmitted.
Gateway Data Storage
When powered on but not connected to the cellular network, the gateway can store over one year’s worth of reading data received from the blood pressure monitor.
Blood Pressure Monitor (BPM) Data Storage
If a reading is taken out of range of the gateway, the BPM can locally store approximately 1,000 readings. The next time the BPM is within range of the powered-on gateway, it will automatically offload all stored data.
Scenario: Traveling Without the Gateway
You can travel with only your Blood Pressure Monitor (BPM), unless your care team requires real-time data transmission during your trip.
Simply take your readings as usual. The BPM will store them.
When you return home and the BPM is near your gateway again, it will automatically send all stored readings to your care team. You do not need to do anything else.
Scenario: Traveling With the Gateway
We recommend bringing your gateway if possible, as it significantly increases the chance of data being sent during your trip.
North American Roaming: The gateway uses the Vodafone network and has roaming coverage across North America. It will likely connect automatically in many locations (e.g., the Virgin Islands).
If the Gateway Doesn’t Connect: If the gateway cannot find a signal, don’t worry. It will continue to store all data from the BPM. You can manually send the stored readings later using the mobile app method below.
How to Offload Data Using the Gateway Mobile App
If the gateway has stored readings but has not automatically sent them, you can use the free Tenovi mobile app to offload the data via Bluetooth.
What You’ll Need:
Your smartphone with Bluetooth enabled.
The Tenovi Gateway (powered on).
The free “Tenovi” app is installed from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Instructions:
Open the Tenovi app on your smartphone.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Follow the in-app instructions to pair with your gateway. This typically involves scanning for devices and selecting your gateway.
Once connected, the app will automatically initiate the transfer of any stored readings from the gateway to your phone.
Your phone will then upload the data to the Tenovi cloud using its internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data).
Please consult with your care team before traveling to confirm their data reporting requirements for your trip.

Ordering Tenovi Devices in CCIQ
Follow these steps to order Tenovi supplies through CCIQ
Sign into the account in question and navigate to the Device Invoices page using the patient dropdown
Click on Tenovi
In the dropdown, click Supplies
Find and select the patient you are ordering for and then click Next
At this point, if you are attempting to order supplies for an account without an active ASR plan in Tenovi, an exception will be thrown and you will be blocked from ordering.
Assuming, the account does have an ASR plan, then you will now have the option to select the supplies you wish to order.
Select the supplies you want to order and when you’re done, click Order
Depending on what occurred when hitting Tenovi’s servers to order the selected supplies, one of the following will have happened:
If every call to Tenovi is successful, then the newly created invoice should appear. You may click on the Order Number for details on which supplies were ordered.
If every call to Tenovi fails – meaning no supply was successfully ordered, then an invoice will be created with its state set to Error
Finally, maybe a few supplies could be ordered, but for some reason, 1 or 2 supplies couldn’t be. In this case, an invoice will be created and appear however, the invoice will have a warning icon and be set to the State to Placed with Warning. You can click on the State for an explanation of which supplies could not be ordered.
Manually Ordering Supplies in the Tenovi Portal
Supplies can always be ordered through Tenovi directly from within the Tenovi portal. Here’s how:
Sign into your Tenovi account
On the left-hand navigation bar, click Client Special Orders
You should now see the button below on the upper right hand of your screen. Clicking the button will open a dialog for ordering supplies.
