2026 Physician Fee Schedule Updates – Reimbursement and RVUs
Exciting news! Earlier this year, CMS published the 2026 Physician Fee Schedule payment and RVU amounts. The updated Fee Schedule and RVU amounts are also updated within the ChronicCareIQ platform.
Here’s a look at what’s new:
Addition of new care management codes for RPM, RTM, and APCM.
For 2026, CMS increased reimbursement rates for care management codes between 5 to 9%.
ChronicCareIQ software projected revenue amounts has been updated to reflect these exciting changes and as always, uses the National Reimbursement Amount of Non-Facility Price in these calculations (projected amounts do not include MAC area contact pricing, copays, deductibles, or patient portion responsibilities).

SmartMeter iDigiTemp Thermometer – Added Device
SmartMeter has introduced its first cellular-enabled thermometer. This device integration is now fully live and available for order and assignment within CCIQ for clients who have iDigiTemp accessibility from SmartMeter.
Steps to add the SmartMeter iDigiTemp Thermometer to patient accounts
Open a patient chart, navigate to the Devices tab
Click Add Device
iDigiTemp is selectable in the Device Type drop-down list.
Once added, the iDigiTemp will be available in the Devices tab in the patient chart, as well as on the device report. Note: you will need to be contracted with SmartMeter for iDigiTemp to have this option

Mark as Reviewed Workflow Improvement
CCIQ recently introduced an enhancement to improve workflow accuracy and audit readiness when using “Mark as Reviewed.”
This enhancement is part of a recent compliance-focused update designed to strengthen audit accuracy and documentation standards. As part of this improvement, the system no longer automatically skip answers for RPM upon just clicking ‘Mark As Reviewed” from a comment documentation action.
To better support audit requirements and ensure all entries reflect intentional clinical decision-making, a “skipped answers” action must now be explicitly taken and audited by the software and logged in the patient record.
As a result, when staff perform a “Mark as Reviewed” workflow action, the system will not automatically enter “skipped answers” any longer. The new workflow requires the care team to specifically log the “skipped answers” action themselves from the patient answer dialog.
Updated Workflow for Logging Skipped Answers
During the review process, staff can manually log “skipped answers” to ensure the action is recorded in the audit trail as a purposeful clinical decision. To complete this step, clinical users must:
Select “Actions then Answer” or the green arrow “Answer” button on the chart
Click “Skip Answers” for patients who do not have specific RPM data questions or responses
New Report Available: Patient Monitoring Goals
ChronicCareIQ has expanded its reporting library to include a new report focused on patient monitoring goals. This report enables care teams to easily track individual patients’ goals and monitor their progress within a comprehensive, centralized view.
How to Access the Patient Monitoring Goals Report
In the ChronicCareIQ software, navigate to the Reports Menu, then click on the Patient Information Link under Reports.
Within the Patient Information Report:
Select your desired format from the drop down list
In the Type field, select Patient Monitoring Goals from the drop down menu
In the Monitoring Goal field, select the type of monitoring goal you want to see
Click the blue Generate Report Button to generate the report
The report will download in your selected format for viewing
Improved Functionality: Patient Search Upgrade
ChronicCareIQ has enhanced the Patient Search page to support large patient datasets by optimizing queries to use only required data sources—improving performance, reliability, and reducing timeout errors for large searches.
Adding Supervising Nurse as selectable field to Patient Detail Report
You asked, we delivered. ChronicCareIQ has improved the Patient Detail Report by adding ‘Supervising Nurse’ as a selectable, reportable field.
Note: The Supervising Nurse field will show when downloading the report into a CSV format.
To View:
Within the Patient Information Report
In the Format field, select CSV
In the Type field, select Patient Detail
Click the blue Generate Report button
The field ‘Supervising Nurse’ will be a column included on the CSV download and can be filterable field within the downloaded report.
Adjusted Smart Meter Device Syncing
ChronicCareIQ has updated Smart Meter device syncing to align with the new API endpoint, which limits data requests to a 31-day window. Syncing now automatically performs multiple API calls to retrieve data beyond this range, preventing errors and ensuring continuity.
